I've been using my Cricut a lot. This weekend I dedicated my time learning some new ways of doing things. I bought the book named Card Making with Cricut. It is published by Annie's Attic. I was very pleased with the easy to follow directions and the freedom it has to make the designs with your own style. Here are some of the Cards I made from the instructions in the book. I Had so much fun playing with my Cricut and I recommend If you have a Cricut at home to buy this book. You will be excited how your finished projects will come out.

Nature Tag

I use stamping and rub- ons to make this tag. I also sprayed glimmer mist to make the back ground. Making this card was so inspirational. I was thinking of all the things I enjoy in nature. The world brings us so much beauty witch craves to be loved and admired by our hearts and eyes. It's amazing how much emotions come hand to hand with inspiration. Experiences is what we are prompted to create. Amazing how we reflect what we think and feel in our creations. Thank You everyone for stopping and looking at what is created and inspired by my heart. I share a little piece of me and my inner soul with everything I create.

I wanted to make a scrap page that shows how much my youngest son loves his dad. He is always waiting for him at the window. One evening around Christmas I caught the action on camera. I finally scrapped the page. It is so special to me.. I hope you enjoy the journalism.
This was a long day for you Ian.
You sat in front of this window for hours waiting for daddy to come home.
You didn't understand why daddy had to go to work so close to the holiday.
So much excitement going on.
You would say "Were is my daddy"?
Back to the window you would stand looking out waiting Patiently.
On the envelope is written in Ian's words.
My daddy should be home soon. Mom come sit with me. We will wait together.
It won't be long. Look mom I am still waiting for my daddy. He will be so happy to see me when he gets home. I just know it..
Inside the letter has mommies words
Yes he will be so happy to see you when he comes home.
Daddy won't be home for a while.
Come away from the window and help me with dinner.
Daddy will be happy if you did that too.
Ok ! you sit there as long as you want.
I will join you when I am done here.
Look daddy came home before dinner is fixed.
Now you and daddy can play until it's time to eat.

Its all about the Hat

It's all about the hat!
All the pattern paper in this layout was made by the techniques we learned from Create Scrapbooks.
http://www.createscrapbooks.com/
The back ground lace was painted with the Lumiere paint. I was lucky to already own some. The color in this layout is called (564 super copper)
The paper with the yellow and red flowers is made from the masking technique.
The red paper above that is made from the resist technique.
Now to the three pieces in the front running up and down.
1st lace one is made from Gesso and oil pastels. I use light yellow and light pink.
2nd is the masking tape technique with water color paint. I used red, pink and yellow and embossed it with white swirls.
3RD ONE IS THE TISSUE AND PERFECT PEARLS technique. I used Hot Pink with Gold perfect pearls on top.
The flowers were all cut out by yours truly and they are all made from the resist technique.
The Howdy is stamped on transparency and added over the center of the flower.
Title: Its All About The Hat
Journal Part says:
What a fun night we had trying on the red hat.
we took turns and had a little show of our own.
Even mom tried on the hat.
We played all night till it was time to go to bed.
Your little brother was laughing, but was to fast for mom to catch.
He loved watching us play with the big red hat.
we had a great family night.

Mixed Media Project

My mothers birthday just past and I had a challenge from Create Scrapbooks to do a Mixed Media Project. So I decided to make this Mixed Media about the three Generation of girls on my side of the family. Since I no longer live in Massachusetts were all of my family live. The three generations
Have not been together like this many times. I was looking for a picture of all of us together and couldn't find one. This sadden me since there wont be many opportunity to capture one. So I decided to Create one... I drew the pictures of us on regular paper. Then use oil pastels to color them. I adhere the drawings to the canvas with Mod podge..This Mixed Media has many emotions tied to it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!
Three Acrylic paint colors and white embossing ink background
